Some Tytus Hobbies

Man, it's fun to watch Tytus pick up some new favorite activities and little quirks as he gets older and his personality continues to develop! I've found myself thinking "I wish I had my camera" so many times lately when he comes up with something new or he's in the middle of doing something silly. Several times in the past few days we'll be talking to each other and he'll make a funny expression and we'll both end up cracking up. Those will be moments I'll just have to pack away in my memory somehow. Also, it's become very apparent just how much he's paying attention to us, retaining that information, and usually using it later to his advantage. Yesterday we were playing with Aunt Amy in the sandbox and I brought out his watering can to let him see what happens when the sand gets wet. Once he dumped it out in the sand I thought it might be a little while before we fill the can back up, but he went right over to the water faucet and asked for more water. I've only used that faucet once this summer. And it was probably several weeks or a month ago. How does he remember so much?!

Carefully stacking the blocks into a tower.
Another thing that's interesting to watch....his intense concentration.
He also pays attention to Ian and I when we're getting ready for the day. As we're in the bathroom or closet Tytus will get different pieces of clothing or accessories to add to either our outfits or his. His favorite items lately have been my white high-healed wedding shoes (it doesn't matter if I'm in pj's, shorts, swimsuit, etc. he still insists that I try them on) and a fluffy pink robe that hangs at the front of the closet. I did manage to catch some pictures of him dressing up as us. He wears his new clothing proudly all around the house no matter how daunting it makes walking and playing.
First thing in the morning he came in our room to put on Ian's shirt.
Then he went all around the house "getting things done".

Wearing mommy's robe

It looks like he's sitting on his knees. Nope, the robe is just that huge!
He still loves wearing it around, though.

Just one more humorous story from this past weekend. We were celebrating Ian's parents' birthdays and were on our way to lunch after church when the driver's side window decided to slide down into the door. I was so confused why Ian had rolled down the window because it was so hot outside and we had his grandmother riding with us. Needless to say....he did NOT roll the window down in the first place and he definitely could NOT get it back up. Since it was Sunday, we couldn't get it fixed anywhere so we plastic wrapped the opening and enjoyed our ride home as deafening as it was. We turned the music up because we couldn't hear anything else anyways, drove through the rain, and just laughed at the whole silly situation. Tytus and Mia were pretty confused but handled it wonderfully!

First Haircut!

Two weekends ago we took Tytus to get his first haircut by our favorite hair guy, Warren. Ian and I both get our hair cut by him and he does such a great job, but that became kind of an issue we tried to take Tytus in. We've gone in several times in the past month, but every time there's at least an hour wait for the next opening. Yikes! We finally got the perfect appointment one Saturday evening, and Tytus had such a good time! I don't know how you cut such a wiggly person's hair, but Warren did a great job cutting, visiting, and having fun with Tytus while we were there. They even gave him a little certificate with his first locks of hair so we can have a little piece of that beautiful baby hair.

To end it all, Tytus got to try his first lollipop. I think he was wondering why we've been holding out for so long.

So, here are some before pictures I took and some after. I'm thankful the curls are still there, but now it's  not hanging over his ears or down his neck. Yay!
